Aeon Flow: A Futuristic Trimaran Inspired by Shark Skin

Unleashing the Power of Biomimicry

The Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran, designed by Alessandro R. Grassi and Serena Bonanni, takes inspiration from shark skin hydrodynamics, utilizing tiny bony teeth to reduce drag and enhance performance.

The Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran stands out as a unique and innovative design in the world of yachts. With its organic-futuristic aesthetic and cutting-edge technology, this trimaran is aimed at a youthful target audience with a keen eye for both style and environmental consciousness.

One of the standout features of the Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran is its hull and superstructures, which are covered with a 3D micro-textured hexagonal film. This film, with its variable density and size depending on its position, offers several benefits. It provides anti-fouling properties, reduces drag, and increases hydrodynamics, ultimately resulting in lower operating costs.

The materials used in the construction of the Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran are equally impressive. The hull and superstructure are made from a combination of basalt fiber and carbon fiber, ensuring high mechanical properties, chemical stability, insulation, and recyclability. The interior semi-structural counter mold is crafted from natural fiber, further enhancing the design's eco-friendly credentials.

Technical specifications of the Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran include a length overall (LOA) of 18.10m, a hull length of 16.40m, and a maximum beam of 9.20m. With a maximum speed of 38 knots and a cruise speed of 28 knots, this trimaran offers both exhilarating performance and comfortable cruising. The Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran can accommodate up to 12 people and features two cabins with four to six beds.

What sets the Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran apart is not just its stunning design and impressive specifications, but also its commitment to eco-technologies. The yacht incorporates a solar roof, a vertical axis wind turbine, and hydro generators, all aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.

The Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran's design flexibility is another notable aspect. The deck and windscreen junction have been meticulously designed to meet the construction criteria of the open, hard-top, and T-top versions. This allows for easy assembly operations on-site, reducing production and refitting costs while offering owners the option to switch between versions post-production.

The Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran received an honorable mention at the MYDA (Millennium Yacht Design Award) in 2018, further solidifying its status as a design that pushes boundaries and captivates the industry.

With its biomimetic inspiration, innovative features, and commitment to sustainability, the Aeon Flow 55 Trimaran is a testament to the power of design and technology in creating a harmonious relationship between humans and the environment.
